BENEFIT, a leading company in fintech services, has joined the Forever Green campaign launched by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) to expand green areas, enhance landscaping and help fight climate change.
The campaign at the Bahraini Youth Avenue saw the planting of 42 seedlings of roll trees, known for their rapid growth and tolerance of harsh conditions, 32 seedlings of flowering tekuma bushes, and 400 seedlings of bougainvillea bushes, to contribute to purifying the air and adding an aesthetic view to the educational area.
NIAD Secretary-General Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, BENEFIT Chief Executive Abdulwahed Al Janahi, senior officials in the company and people interested in advancing agriculture in Bahrain attended the planting ceremony.
BENEFIT’s contribution is hailed as a new testimony to the growing partnership between the public and private sectors to support the government plans to reduce carbon emissions and achieve environmental sustainability.
“We at BENEFIT are proud to support NIAD and its endeavors to expand the green areas in Bahrain, and such support reflects our patriotism and our strong sense of social commitment,” Al Janahi said.
“Such opportunities provide an incentive for us to create a positive environmental footprint and contribute to air pollution protection and carbon emissions reduction in order to achieve the Kingdom’s goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2060.”
