“Forever Green” campaign plants 64 trees at Ibn Khaldoon Social Centre

The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) continues its national afforestation campaign, “Forever Green,” with the planting of 64 trees and shrubs at the Ibn Khaldoon Social Centre, covering an area of 259 square metres, funded by the Trafco Group.

The launch event was attended by Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD; Sahar Al Mannai, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Development; and Azzam Moutragi, CEO of Trafco Group.

Shaikha Maram bin Isa highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve environmental sustainability.

The secretary general noted that Trafco Group’s contribution builds on the accomplishments of the “Forever Green” campaign and that greening the centre will benefit its visitors while increasing the green spaces in the densely populated area.

Shaikha Maram bin Isa further emphasised that planting trees at social centres has a direct impact on improving the surrounding environment and enhancing the quality of life for beneficiaries.

On his part, Moutragi expressed pride in Trafco Group’s support for the “Forever Green” campaign, aligning with the company’s commitment to social responsibility, environmental preservation, and sustainability.

He said that the greening of the social centre reflects the significance of cooperation between the private sector and government institutions in achieving environmental and developmental goals that benefit the community and enhance quality of life.

He emphasised that the group will continue to support similar initiatives in the future, emphasising that expanding green spaces is a long-term investment in both the environment and society.
