Chinese Embassy supports “Forever Green” campaign with tree planting

The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) announced the planting of 70 hibiscus trees along Road 1722 in the Diplomatic Area, with support from the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain.

The event was attended by Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD; Ni Ruchi, the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain; and Mohammed Saad Al Sahli, Director General of the Capital Municipality.

Shaikha Maram bint Isa expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its ongoing support of the campaign, highlighting its role as an international contribution to Bahrain’s pursuit of sustainable environmental goals.

She emphasized that the “Forever Green” campaign remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders supporting national efforts to expand green spaces and achieve net-zero objectives.

On his part, the ambassador emphasized that collaboration on such projects strengthens relations between the two countries and reflects China’s commitment to supporting global efforts to achieve sustainable development.

This initiative represents another step towards achieving Bahrain’s sustainable development goals and demonstrates the commitment of all participants to environmental protection and raising awareness of the importance of tree planting. It also underscores ongoing efforts to expand green spaces, contributing to Bahrain’s vision of a more sustainable environmental future.
