The National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector has completed the second phase of the national afforestation campaign (Forever Green), which resulted in the planting of 50,814 thousand trees and shrubs on an area of ​​13,589 thousand square meters and 10,288 thousand linear meters. The second phase witnessed the completion of 57 afforestation projects in public parks, walkways, public transport stations, health centres, schools, parking lots, waterfronts and public streets in various governorates and towns of the Kingdom, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Supreme Council for Environment. The total cost of the second phase amounted to 177,686 thousand Bahraini dinars provided by the private sector and its various institutions, and 11 local agricultural companies benefited from the implementation of these projects.
