The 2019 Bahrain International Garden Show exhibition carried the slogan " Agriculture as a Promising Career Choice " which focused on agriculture as an ambitious career option to meet the growing demand for experts with the necessary skills, especially in the field of agricultural technology and sustainable agricultural practices. The scope of this specialization includes: food production, management of technical and energy systems, ecosystems, agribusiness and management.
Data and statistics of the agricultural reality in the Kingdom of Bahrain were shared as well as the results of the survey conducted by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development which aimed to represent the governmental, private, educational, and civil institutions needs for agricultural jobs, to encourage Bahraini youth to engage in this vital sector.
A video was presented to convey to the youth the promising future of agricultural jobs and to attract them to seek education in this sector. The Food and Agriculture College from the University of United Arab Emirates participated by sending students to share their experiences in pursuing careers in agriculture to the visitors of the exhibition. Also, the Faculty of agricultural and marine sciences at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman participated and presented various agricultural specialties and answered inquiries throughout the exhibition period to increase the awareness of visitors regarding all agricultural specialties and their importance.
