The primary purposes of food legislation are to protect the health of the consumer, to protect the consumer from fraud, and to ensure the essential quality and wholesomeness of foods. Food is governed by a complexity of laws and regulations, which set out the Bahraini government’s requirements to be met by food chain operators to ensure food safety and quality for the general public.
